History in Armored Vehicles Industry
The roots of the U.S. armored vehicle industry were planted in the 1940's at the Hess & Eisenhardt Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Protection technology was in its infancy, but the most advanced armored vehicles in the world were being made by the company to protect the President of the United States of America, including the first armored Presidential Limousine for Harry S Truman. In 1982, the company became O'Gara-Hess & Eisenhardt Armoring Company after acquisition by members of the O'Gara family. O'Gara-Hess & Eisenhardt Armoring Company was sold to Armor Holdings, Inc. (later acquired by BAE Systems).

O'Gara Enters Sensor Systems Arena with STS Acquisition
O'Gara acquired a small electro-optics company in Dayton, Ohio in 2003 because the firm had developed an innovative low-profile night vision goggle. Today this device, the AN/PVS-21, is being used by special operations and other forces from the USA, UK, Italy, Germany, Taiwan, and others. Integration of heads-up display technology achieves true sensor fusion with the user able to see full-color data feeds from video, computer, GPS, and other signals right in the field of vision during daytime or covert nighttime operations. Diffraction, Ltd, a highly advanced development shop employed primarily by USSOCOM, was added to the group to extend our innovation capabilities.

Training and Services for Homeland Security and Counter-Terrorism
The acquisition of Critical Incident Solutions and TRACOR, Inc. has enabled The O'Gara Group to establish its position in the security services and training market. Experts at these firms have pioneered new methods designed to protect against the effects of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive (CBRNE) and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). We provide professional services including cutting edge special tactics and security training to the US military, federal agencies, law enforcement, and select corporate security agencies supporting anti/counter-terrorism, low intensity conflicts, and homeland security.
